Situation as Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga takes late lunch at Nyamira County Senator Okongo Omogeni’s home with former Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Kisii County Senator Richard Onyonka present as speculations rife over his latest closeness with Okongo Omogeni.
Yesterday,the ODM leader was in Nyamira County for the burial of former West Mugirango MP Benson Kegoro where he was flanked with a number of leaders drawn from the region.
Raila’s latest camaraderie with Mogeni according to blogger Abuga Makori could trigger sharp divisions in Nyamira politics. In 2027, Okongo Omogeni and ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire are eying the gurbenatorial position.
“Raila Odinga’s latest camaraderie with Sen. Mogeni could trigger sharp divisions in NYAMIRA politics. Raila took late lunch at Mogeni’s place. He brought him to Dialogue Committee and put him in influential PSC. Both Mogeni and ODM Treasurer Bosire are eyeing gubernatorial seat, 2027. Who will Raila stand with?” Abuga Makori said.
Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo is currently serving his last term in office and will leave office by 2027.
