Just years after celebrated Kenyan singer Kevin Bahati shut down his Eastlands Most Beloved (EMB) Record Label, he has now hinted that he is going to revive it.

The ‘Wa Nani’ hit maker infact hinted at this several hours ago, when he took to his Instagram stories and shared a short video capturing a sunset, that he took when he was at his office.

Bahati then accompanied the photo with a caption hinting that he was going to actually revive the record label this year

“EMB ENTERTAINMENT 2024” he said.

Here are the screenshots of the video.

The move by Bahati to hint that he was going to revive the record label comes just four years after he shut it down.

The talented singer actually shut it down in April 2020, and at the time he even revealed the reason why he had made that big decision.

According to Bahati, he did so because of the hatred that was in the Gospel industry.

He claimed that there were some people in the genre who were his enemies, and just wanted to see him fail in everything he did.

When Bahati announced at the time that he was shutting down his record label, he also terminated the contracts of three artistes; two that he had signed, and one that he was planning to work with.

“Today I made one of the toughest decisions and that is I’m closing down EMB record Label and by closing EMB Record Label it means I’m officially terminating all the contracts the artiste and that is Weezdom, Denno and another new artiste I was to support in 2020.

Even though nimeenda a big loss, to me this was ministry but what is the point of doing ministry while the same Ministry inakuwa translate the wrong way always inakuacha in a bad name…” Bahati said in part.

He added:

“Most gospel artistes have been so jealous of my success. Some felt like the artistes I was signing are the ones who were making money for me”.
