Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor has narrated a chilling ordeal of how slain JKUAT student Rita Waeni was brutally murdered in Roysambu.

Speaking to the press after conducting a postmortem on Friday, Oduor said he had not witnessed anything like that in his whole forensic life.

According to Oduor, the head was missing and it was evident that both legs had been cut apart and separated from the body. He said the examinations revealed that the late could have died from excessive loss of blood.

He said he had never witnessed such an incident in his whole forensic life, adding that the act was cruel and traumatizing.

“The skin seems to have been cut by a sharp object but her bones were cut by what looked like a hacksaw. This is the first time I have come across such an incident in my forensic life” stated Oduor.

Oduor went ahead to narrate how the murderer clipped out the victim’s nails trying to hide any evidence that could link him to the death. He said the flesh seemed to have been cut by a sharp object with bones disjointed by what seemed to have been a hacksaw.

“The head was missing and both legs had been cut clean. She looked like someone who had lost a significant amount of blood before death but we have taken samples for analysis. We saw that the person who did this tried to clip off the fingernails for reasons we don’t know. To us, scientists, the reason for this is that the person was trying to hide the evidence so that we could not get this DNA from the victim…We, however, found some nails still intact and we took them for analysis and we might get some remnants of DNA from them,” stated Oduor.
