Shock as man hangs self after his wife allegedly refuses to open door for him

A man committed suicide on Thursday after a domestic squabble with his wife in Kijabe village.
The father of three hanged himself outside the family house after the wife allegedly refused to open for him the door.

The deceased is said to have returned home drunk after a night out with his friends.
A neighbour, Samuel Njung’e, said the couple often differed over the man’s drinking habits. Njung’e said the wife had always complained about the man’s failure to provide for the children and was always drunk.
“The man would spend all his salary on liquor and would return home late in the evening drunk and penniless,” he said.
A senior police said the wife has recorded a statement as part of the ongoing investigations.
