Willis Ayieko, a former HR manager at Wells Fargo, was tragically murdered in Siaya County, his body dumped in a stream after he went missing on October 18, 2024.
His burial on November 9, 2024, was attended by thousands of mourners, including prominent figures like politicians James Orengo, CS Opiyo Wandayi, and MPs Jalang’o and Atandi.
Among the mourners, it was Willis Ayieko’s widow, Esther Awuor Wagumba, who captured the attention of many with her incredible composure and strength.
Despite the overwhelming pain of losing her husband, Esther stood before the crowd, calm and collected, as she honored Willis’s memory and introduced their two children, Nathan and Lauren Druscillah.
In her speech, Esther shared heartfelt tributes from their children, remembering how deeply their father loved them and how they reciprocated that love. The emotional yet composed way in which she addressed the mourners left many people in awe.
