In an interview with a local radio station, Shakilla said that she only dates men who can give her a daily stipend of KSh 60,000 for her upkeep. She also said that she prefers men who are older than her, have a lot of money, and are not stingy.
“I don’t date broke men. I only date men who can give me KSh 60,000 every day for my upkeep. That’s the minimum amount I can accept. I also like men who are older than me, because they have more experience and money. They also know how to treat a woman well. I don’t like young men who are stingy and immature,” Shakilla said.
Shakilla’s remarks did not sit well with many Kenyans, who took to social media to bash her for being materialistic, unrealistic, and disrespectful. Some accused her of being a gold digger, a prostitute, and a bad influence to young girls. Others advised her to work hard and earn her own money, instead of depending on men for her lifestyle.
“Shakilla is a disgrace to women. She is selling herself cheaply to men who don’t care about her. She should respect herself and find a decent job. She is setting a bad example for young girls who look up to her,” one user commented.
“Shakilla is living in a fantasy world. She thinks that men will give her KSh 60,000 every day for nothing. She is delusional and greedy. She should wake up and face reality. No man will waste his money on her,” another user wrote.
Shakilla is no stranger to controversy, as she has been involved in several scandals in the past. She once claimed that she had slept with several celebrities, including footballer Victor Wanyama and rapper Khaligraph Jones, but later retracted her statements and apologized. She was also fined and banned from Turkey for two months for violating visa rules and overstaying.
