Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has come out to reveal that the conservatory orders stopping the swearing in of Prof Kithure Kindiki as deputy president will not be lifted anytime soon and Ruto is to blame for this.

Ahmednasir said that Ruto’s recent move to order the High Court to drop Gachagua’s cases in which he is opposing his impeachment was misinformed as Gachagua’s lawyers will use it to delay the case. He said that the lawyers who advised Ruto to file the case made a mistake. Ahmednasir now says that Gachagua’s legal team will use that case to have him appear in court for cross-examination and that will see Gachagua’s Impeachment delayed.

“Two matters that have the potential to delay the applications to discharge the conservatory orders staying the impeachment of Hon Rigathi Gachagua are twinkling in the skies. (1) I saw from tv clips that H.E @WILLIAMSRUTO swore an affidavit in the suits before court. Terrible mistake if that it true. Only a rookie lawyer will make that mistake. The 90s case law on attempts to cross-examine President Arap Moi provides viable lessons in that regard. I’m sure Gachagua’s lawyers will not pass that opportunity to have the President on the dock.” Ahmednasir said.

The case by Ruto asking the High Court to drop Gachagua’s cases raised mixed reactions from Kenyans with many people accusing him of interfering with the independence of the Judiciary.
