Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna drew widespread attention online after hosting two popular TikTok personalities at his office.
The visit quickly became a talking point across social media platforms.
Photos shared on his official X account on Friday show a visibly elated Sifuna warmly welcoming the two young women, one of whom is known among Gen Z audiences for her outspoken commentary on national affairs.
The images capture light-hearted moments inside the senator’s office, with Sifuna seated at his desk, engaging the visitors in animated conversation as all three laughed together.
Another photo shows the TikTokers presenting him with a white T-shirt bearing the inscription, “Mimi ndio Sifuna.”
The back of the shirt features a printed Kenyan flag alongside the coat of arms, blending political symbolism with online culture.
“Ma baddies wa pale TikTok wameamua kuni kit for Sunday. Thanks for the love and support, bwana. God bless,” Sifuna captioned the post, signalling appreciation for the gesture.
The visit triggered a wave of reactions from Kenyan netizens, with supporters expressing admiration for the senator.
One user, Odada, wrote, “We are behind you omwami,” while Ongeri commented, “Mimi ndio supporter wa Sifuna.” Activist Kibet Bull added, “Sisi ndio Sifuna,” echoing the slogan on the gifted T-shirt.
Others used the moment to comment on Sifuna’s political prospects. One user wrote, “Sifuna has presidential aura. He’s him,” accompanied by a fire emoji, while Karimi Patie added, “Tunakupenda bure People’s SG kwa hivyo usiwahi tuangusha,” which translates to, “We love you for free, People’s Secretary General, so never let us down.”
The visit comes amid a politically charged period for Sifuna, who has recently faced internal party turbulence after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) removed him from his position as Secretary General.
Speaking at a press briefing in Nairobi, he insisted he remains the party’s validly elected secretary general.
“I was not given a chance to defend myself,” he said, asserting that the NEC’s action violated party procedures.
He has secured temporary court orders blocking his ouster, setting the stage for a legal and political battle that is still unfolding.
Against this backdrop, the TikTok visit appears to have reinforced Sifuna’s appeal among younger, digitally savvy audiences.
