On Sunday morning, Ruto in the company of his wife, First Lady Rachel Ruto attended a church service at Uasini Gishu.
The Head of State was at ACK Diocese of Eldoret for its 40th Anniversary Service.
Later after the church service, the head of state toured his Koilel farm and he was accompanied by senator Methu Muhiu and among others.
Ruto’s Koilel farm operates from 430-acre land in Sugoi.
In 2018, the farm, which operates under Koilel Farm Limited, was among 11 firms investigated by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission over controversial sales of maize to the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB). The farm was later cleared, receiving millions from NCPB for supplies.
President William Ruto earlier said that Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to doubling food production in the country in a bid to eliminate dependence on imports.
Speaking during a church service in Eldoret on Sunday, October 29, the Head of State said the government has put in place measures to ensure Kenya does not import maize from 2025.
