Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has criticized the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp led by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for insisting that they will be resuming protests tomorrow, May 2nd.
Raila and his camp have been arguing that President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza side were not taking the bipartisan talks with the seriousness it deserves.
In his latest remarks, Raila claimed to have received assassination threats, but maintained that he will not chicken out until his demands are met, with emphasis on the opening of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers.
Taking to his Twitter account on Monday evening, Senator Khalwale expressed his disappointment after the Azimio camp suspended their participation from the bipartisan talks, saying Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo and who is the leader of the Azimio bipartisan team, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua led the camp out of the talks.
“Am pissed off when Azimio moans that they’re going back to destruction of property, violence, and death. They have a better option of bipartisan talks! How colleagues Senator Wambua, Senator Sifuna, and Hon Otiende Amollo led their side in a walk out of the talks completely beats logic. Despicable,” tweeted the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker.
Raila revealed that during tomorrow’s demos, they will be presenting petitions to IEBC, Office of the President, the National Treasury and the Public Service Commission (PSC).
President Ruto and the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have said that Raila will not be allowed to cause mayhem and led to destruction of property in his tomorrow’s demos.
