Makueni county senator Hon Maanzo Daniel Kitonga, has disclosed to the public that their Wiper party brigade led by Hon Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, has started to mobilize their people to register as voters ahead of the fast approaching 2027 general election.

This comes barely two weeks after impeached Deputy President of the republic of Kenya Hon Rigathi Gachagua, promised his new found ally Kalonzo Musyoka, to stretch his unwavering support when he contests for the country’s top political seat.

While making his promise during a funeral service that he (Gachagua) had attended in Mbooni, Makueni County on Wednesday 18 December 2024, Gachagua gave conditions to the wiper party leader, that he is only ready to strike a coalition deal with him, after he succeeds in mobilizing at least four million votes from his Ukambani backyard, arguing that it is the only sure way to unseat President Ruto

In bid to meet the set condition, Daniel Maanzo indicated that they have started door to door campaigns, to ensure youths and Gen-Zs get Identification Cards (IDs) and register themselves as voters.

While making his remarks, Daniel Maanzo indicated that they have started the process early before the country officially shifts into election mood, because President William Ruto might make it hard for Mt Kenya people, to be issued with IDs in bid reduce chances of Kalonzo Musyoka succeeding him in 2027.

“Chances are that in the future, Ruto will make it hard for Kenyans especially from regions like Mt Kenya which he knows is no longer backing backing him, to get identify cards to enable them register as voters. We know that for sure and we have a solid plan to counter it” Daniel Maanzo indicated.
