The speaker of senate Amason Kingi has today left the country to neighboring South Sudan for a high profile meeting in the country.

Speaker Amason Kingi was warmly welcomed by senior South Sudan government officials upon landing at Juba.

” Arrived in Juba, South Sudan this afternoon for the plenary assembly of the FP-ICGLR, a caucus for parliaments in the Great Lakes region” tweeted speaker Amason Kingi.

Amason Kingi is attending the high profile plenary assembly as the sitting president of the caucus. Speakers from great lake region countries will be attending the meeting.

The sessions will focus on enhancing the role of parliaments in resolving armed conflicts currently ravaging the Great lake region and also issues of socio- economic and political significance.

” As the sitting president of the caucus, I will be joined by fellow speakers in sessions focused on enhancing the role of parliaments in resolving armed conflicts ravaging the G.L region and also discuss issues of socio- economic and political significance to the member states” added Kingi.
