Armed officials are in charge of the livestock that was found in Baringo North.

Even in the middle of heightened caution by multi-agency security teams overseeing ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’, bandits who have been wrecking havoc with abandon in Kerio Valley seem undeterred. After raiding two villages in Baringo North, Kagir and Chemoe, the ragtag collection of men fled with 80 cows and 26 goats.

Following the raid, highly armed police started a hot pursuit based on intelligence, and when they encountered the armed bandits, they engaged in a fierce gun battle.

The battle-tested officers were able to outgun the thieves, who fled with their loot into the adjacent thick tickets.

After successful identification, the animals, which included 87 cows and 26 goats, were later returned to their original owners.

After a ferocious firefight, the animals that had been taken from Chemoe and Kagir Villages in Baringo North were returned to their rightful owners.
