Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol has recently revealed their decision to disband after 18 years of creating music together. The group, consisting of members Bien, Savara, Chimano, and Polycarp, will be going their separate ways following their upcoming world tour and the release of their final album in 2023.
While the band members will pursue individual projects, their strong friendship will endure. In a statement released today, it was announced that the world tour, known as “World Tour 8,” will provide fans with a final opportunity to experience the magic of Sauti Sol before the group takes a hiatus.
The tour will span various locations across the United States, Europe, and Canada, serving as both a farewell and a celebration of Sauti Sol’s extraordinary journey. It serves as a testament to the enduring bond and camaraderie that the band members have built over their 20 years in the music industry.
Back in 2021, Sauti Sol initially announced their decision to take a break and focus on individual projects under the motto “Alone Together.” This mantra symbolizes their unique transition as brothers, encompassing personal growth while remaining a united front.
Founded in 2005 by vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza and Willis Chimano, along with Savara Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno, Sauti Sol has left an indelible mark on the Kenyan music scene and beyond. Their final album and world tour mark the end of an era for the beloved boy band, but their legacy and impact will undoubtedly live on.
