Four years ago, A woman known as Wanja Mwaura made became famous after rescuing a homeless man from the streets and transformed him. She garnered widespread admiration and respect for her compassionate deeds.
Today, however, the woman who once extended a helping hand is now asking for assistance herself.
Reports have surfaced that Wanja is now confined to a wheelchair and is in dire need of medical help. There have been calls for help through social media as several Kenyans ask others to come together to support her.
The once-vibrant charity worker has reportedly lost the ability to walk, an unimaginable turn of events for someone known for her relentless energy and kindness.
Kenyans who have followed her journey are now rallying behind her. The famous Dama Wa Spare Parts, “I may not know Wanja Mwaura that much, but I know her through her charitable works. I started following her long ago, and to be sincere, this is the woman who motivated me to start doing charity work. A few months ago, I discovered her current situation after watching her being ridden in a wheelchair. It was unbelievable, and I tried to reach out to her.
According to reports, she is scheduled to travel to Israel for specialized medical care, with the total cost amounting to KSh 2.5 million. It is also reported that she only needs help to raise KSh 850,000 to achieve the target.
Her followers are appealing to Kenyans to contribute, noting that Wanja has helped many people in need.
