Latest reports have revealed that a giant Mugumo Tree has fallen in Kieni, Nyeri county. The mugumo tree holds a lot of spiritual significance among the Agikuyu people and when one falls it is taken as a sign of a bad omen.
Agikuyu ancestors considered the mugumo tree sacred and to date it is still respected. After the news spread about the tree falling Kenyans have given different opinions on what it could mean.
Some said that it is a sign of the fall of deputy president Rigathi Gachagua. Others said that it could be a sign that the Mt Kenya region was falling apart and therefore the need for immediate action.
This tree fell juts a day before the impeachment motion against deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is tabled in parliament. This has led many Kenyans to believe that it is a message to the second in command telling him to accept his fate and go home.
