Kenyans might soon start seeing Ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta in opposition demonstrations, Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege says.

She says that Uhuru has reduced himself to the lowest levels, which is eroding the image he has, that of a former Head of State.

Chege adds that Uhuru seems not keen on protecting his image, citing his recent move to storm Jubilee Party offices with a group of young people.

She has opined that at this rate, it will not be shocking to see him begin joining Azimio leaders for the demos, even though such should not happen.

“At this rate, you might see him on the streets participating in protests. He is eroding the dignity and respect that comes with his name, history and status,” she said on Inooro TV on Thursday.

This is after Uhuru prevented an attempt by the rival Jubilee faction to seize the party headquarters, which included him chasing police officers away.

Uhuru has also remained loyal to the Azimio coalition and it’s leader Raila Odinga, with Kenya Kwanza members accusing him of funding Raila’s demos.

Chege stated that she is not afraid of losing Uhuru’s favour, even after he nominated her to parliament, staying that she is even ready for an encounter.

But she dared Uhuru to directly deal with her if he can and stop using his footsoldiers to fight her, holding that cowardice is not among her qualities.

“Cowardice is a cause of poverty. They can take away her nomination if they can. They can take away her minority whip if they can. He should communicate directly with me instead of sending his foot soldiers,” added the parliamentarian.

This comes days after she was named the new Jubilee Party Leader, in an apparent bid to eject Ruto and install a Kenya Kwanza-friendly figure.
