The report pointed out that there is over Ksh5 billion which has been inflated in the pending bills of the former administration of the county led by Nanok. The committee also found out that there are travelling expenses amounting to ksh3.8 million in the financial year that ended in June 2021. Questions have been raised on this expenses since at the time the country was battling the Coronavirus pandemic and the governor had limited travels.

The county Auditor General, Nancy Gathungu is now seeking answers on the expenditure of the millions of money. The auditor general also said that Ksh1.4 billion was spent on domestic travels during the same year under review.

“How did Sh7.2 billion get into the system before it turned out to be only Sh2.16 billion? Sh5 billion is not a small amount of money and this is the first time we have seen such a huge discrepancy in this committee,” Mr Kajwang’, the chairman of the committee said.
