President William Ruto’s ally and South Mugirango Constituency MP, Sylvanus Osoro, has swiftly taken action to intervene in the impeachment proceedings against Nyanza Governor Amos Nyaribo. Osoro, known for his close ties to Ruto, met with a group of Nyamira County MCAs to discuss the impeachment motion.

Osoro has reportedly advised the MCAs to pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as a means to resolve the issue. However, the MCAs seem determined to proceed with the impeachment, stating that they are following President Ruto’s philosophy of “Mambo ni Matatu.” This suggests their commitment to the cause despite Osoro’s intervention.

Out of the 34 MCAs, 28 have signed the motion to remove Nyaribo from office, citing mismanagement of the county. Nyaribo is the party leader of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

The situation continues to unfold, and it remains to be seen how the impeachment proceedings will progress.
