Hours after media exposed how millions of money are being misused by various hospitals attached to National Health Insurance Fund, health cabinet secretary Susan Nakhumicha has finally taken a quick action.

As relayed by Stephen Mutoro, the cabinet secretary has allegedly suspended eight branch managers accused of corruption among other things.

According to Muturo, Nakhumicha has taken that quick action after public outcry following findings that were released yesterday by a local television station.

“Too little, too late?

■ The @MOH_Kenya CS Susan Nakhumicha suspends eight NHIF branch managers accused of corruption.

■ Mute on the real culprits: Corrupt hospitals running @nhifkenya coffers dry.

■ Mute on recovery of stolen funds

■ Yet its the same CS who would talk of waiting from Treasury remittances

■ Well managed, NHIF should be so rich that it will eventually pay Treasury dividends

■ Hope Eng MSM Kamau does not recycle the leadership at NHIF and gives Kenyans a fresh CEO”, he wrote.

Mutoro has therefore called on Nakhumicha to expose alleged culprits and recover.the stolen funds in the scheme.

This comes days after President William Ruto in an interview vowed to clean up the mess that has been widely been experienced in NHIF.

Apparently, this is a huge move taken by the government in ensuring that Kenyans in the scheme acquire better services.

Besides KEMSA scandal, this is arguably another huge step taken by Nakhumicha in cleaning up the mess in health sector.
