President William Ruto’s approval rate has fallen drastically just fourteen months after he took over power from former President Uhuru Kenyatta. This is according to a recent survey carried out by Kenya Data and Statistics company.

This was after the company conducted an online X survey in the last two months, asking Kenyans about their opinions and how they feel about President Ruto’s score in office as compared to his predecessors.

This is a follow-up to a previous survey conducted same time in December 2022 just three months after Ruto took power. The company kept track of the approval ratings of Kenya’s president William Ruto, and his predecessors, President Kibaki and Kenyatta.

The findings showed that only 4% and 8% of respondents said they totally approve and approve of President William Ruto in 2023. A large majority (46%) said they totally disapproved of him, while 27% said they disapproved of him.

Recent policies by the current administration might be the reason why this is the case. Will these sentiments hold up till 2027? Please tell us in the comments.

This was compared to Former Presidents Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta’s first year in office as well. Kibaki was the most approved president at 47% followed by Uhuru Kenyatta at 23% and lastly William Ruto at 8% during their first year in office respectively

In 2022, Kenyans gave Ruto 33% approval rate with Uhuru getting on;y 15% while Kibaki had the highest approval of 69%.

However, things have changed very fast for Ruto in 2023. In the survey, Ruto’s score dropped to 12% in 2023 while Uhuru’s score rose to 28%and Kibaki remained the best in 2023 with 84% score rate.
