The recent move by Raila Amollo Odinga and President William Samoei Arap Ruto to engage in a broad-based government has opened a new conversation in the political arena. This comes at a time when the country is split politically and most politicians have refused to join the current regime.

The outspoken former presidential candidate, Raila Amollo Odinga, met with leaders from Azimio la Umoja, one Kenya Alliance coalition, in a closed-door meeting. He was trying to persuade his friends to begin a discussion at Bomas of Kenya to make radical changes in the country.

The principals, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, have revealed that they will not engage the current regime because of its failure. They spent the entire day yesterday in a closed-door meeting as they were trying to revive the Bomas conversation. They were keen to note that they can no longer trust William Samoei Arap Ruto since he has already failed to deliver the bottom-up economic model in the country.

The president wants to push a dialogue to try and cool down the political temperatures in the country. He is set to initiate dialogue, but Kenyans have refused to join him, claiming that he is used to lying and people can no longer trust him.

The opposition has already rejected radical changes in the country that may lead to a constitutional amendment. They have agreed that William Samoei Arap Ruto is set to fail and that nothing can be done to help him survive in the country.
