President William Ruto has met Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States of America. Ruto met the youthful Senegalese President alongside ODM leader Raila Odinga, Mining Cabinet Secretary Hasaan Joho and Environment Cabinet Secretary Adan Duale.
Taking to his social media accounts, Ruto promised to deepen the ties between Kenya and Senegal to advance shared goals in peace, development and integration. He also seized the opportunity to drum up support for Raila Odinga’s African Union Commission Chairperson.
The head of state said they discussed with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye about Raila Odinga’s candidature and asked for his vote in the upcoming election slated for February, where Raila is expected to face other candidates.
”We will deepen our ties with Senegal to advance shared goals in peace, development and continental integration. In New York, discussed Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union Commission Chairperson with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal,” Ruto said.
