President Ruto left the podium at Moi Stadium in Mandera after DP Kindiki invited him to address a crowd of people who had gathered at the stadium.

Kenya Kwanza Leaders led by President Ruto, today, engaged Mandera residents at Moi Stadium where President Ruto in a surprising turn of events left the podium after Kindiki invited him to speak.

Remember, according to protocol, the Deputy President often invites the President and in most cases handlers are always seen quickly bringing a specific microphone stand to be used by the President at the podium.

However, things were different today at Moi Stadium, Mandera. President Ruto upon being invited, left the podium, climbed a white car and addressed residents on top of the car

Live video of the event, showed the President’s handlers directing a white vehicle immediately after Kindiki invited President Ruto to speak.

The vehicle moved in front of the podium. Meanwhile President Ruto walked towards it, climbed it and addressed residents from the Vehicle’s sunroof.

It’s not clear why the President chose to address residents from his vehicle instead of the podium which had earlier been used by other leaders including DP Kindiki. However, after he climbed the car, the crowd which had were a bit distant from the podium were allowed to move closer to the President.
