Ndindi Nyoro, the head of the influential Budget and Appropriations Committee, is among the National Assembly committee chairpersons who could be fired as Ruto plans a significant purge.
According to reports, the president is preparing a drastic shift in the National Assembly, replacing disloyal vice-chairmen and chairpersons of house committees with loyalists.
Nyoro is currently facing criticism as he serves his second term as the MP for Kiharu.
It is also thought that the President is being pressured to honor allies who were instrumental in former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment.
Next month, before MPs take a break for Christmas, the changes might be implemented.
A potential alliance between Gachagua and some opposition forces, like Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, is seen as a threat to Ruto’s agenda unless he places his loyalists in key house leadership roles.
Ruto’s goals may be harmed by the massive realignment in Gachagua, Central Kenya, even though he is collaborating with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM party.
Here are the responses from Kenyans:
“Those are good news to all the sadists but very sad news to all the patriots. Ndindi Nyoro is a good man just like Gachagua but his goose is boiling soon it will be cooked and served. But he should stay put just like Gachagua.” Mangedo said.
“I wonder how Ruto got his PhD ,this matter should be investigated,we need to see those who supervised his thesis and also we want his defense of the thesis to be redone and should be live on TV.” Petra said.
“Yes they should remove him, and create a strong opposition from Mt Kenya, everything falling in line.” Ted Mulwa said.
“We must flatten the mountain. In the place where the mountain is, we will construct a Lake.” Kevin Asava said.
