President William Ruto is currently held up in a meeting at State House Nairobi.
According to sources privy to the happenings, the meeting is revolved around getting a new deputy President just hours after Rigathi Gachagua was impeached.
Citizen TV reported that after the State House meeting, another special meeting will be held at Parliament buildings where head of Public Service Felix Koskei is expected to reveal the name of the new DP at around 9:30
Unconfirmed reports have hinted at Kiture Kindiki being appointed the next DP to succeed Gachagua. However, news surrounding this authenticity remains scanty. Other top runners include Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Murang’a Governor Irungu Kangata.
It was not immediately clear on who was present during the meeting.
This comes at a time when the senate Speaker Amason Kingi on Friday, Gazetted Gacagua’s impeachment moments after the senate approved it. This former DP is still admitted at Karen hospital after his Dr. Gikonyo said he will be laid to rest for 72 hours to monitor his heart and chest.
Former vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is expected to visit him at 9:30
