The former prime minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja coalition fraternity has paid their respects at the late Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla’s Siaya residence.
Martha Karua, using her official X handle, reported that the leaders had just moments ago visited the deceased general’s residence to send their condolences to the family.
Other leaders present include Jubilee Sec. General Jeremiah Kioni, ODM Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya, and Kalonzo Musyoka.
The family statement states that General Ogolla will be laid to rest at his house on Sunday. The family pointed out that Ogolla had specified in his will that he be buried within 72 hours of his passing, so the ostensibly expedited burial followed his wishes.
The general passed away on Thursday night in Elgeyo Marakwet due to a helicopter accident. Some KDF officers who died with Ogolla in the helicopter crash were buried in their houses.
Elsewhere, azimio leader and blogger Hon Robert Alai has distanced himself from the claims that other azimio leaders are making concerning the death of Francis Ogolla. Alai has said that no one killed the late general.
“Guys, I don’t believe that anyone killed General Ogolla. Ruto gains nothing by killing General Ogolla. Let’s bury this gallant son of the soil with the respect and honours he deserves. Siasa za matanga tuwache please.” Robert Alai said.
