Today in the evening, reports have emerged that the president of this country Dr William Samoe Ruto has directed the former governor of Mombasa county Hon Hassan Joho to hold key meeting and come up with a report that should be submitted to him in due course.
As reported by people daily, Ruto while in the coastal region today has told hon Joho to have a meeting with Salim Mvurya and Amason Kingi to address the land problems in the region expecially the absentee landlords.
According to Ruto, his goverment has come to realize that there are some huge parcel of lands in the coast with absent owners while the residents remain with no land. Ruto wants the three leaders to come out with a list of these absentee landlords and give it to him for further actions.
“Now I want to give three leaders an assignment. We made an agreement with the coastal people that we are going to solve the land issue. Now this year we have set aside Ksh1 billion to sought out the issue of absentee landlords” Said Dr William Samoe Ruto.
