Ruto Arrives at KICC as ODM MPs Steal Show During Kindiki's Swearing In Ceremony - Kenyans Living It

On Friday, thousands of Kenyans converged at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) to witness the historic swearing-in ceremony of Deputy President Designate Professor Kithure Kindiki.

It was expected that President William Ruto will miss the event due to his official visit to Burundi for the COMESA meeting. However, at around 10:25 am, Ruto’s convoy upru[tly made its way into KICC for Kithure’s swearing-in ceremony.

Among those present were high-profiled leaders in government, who braved the morning cold to avail themselves at KICC. And when guests made their way into the venue, notably present were a good number of leaders from Raila Odinga’s ODM party.

Among those present from ODM were Narok Senator Ledama Olekina and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed. The two stole the show as they walked side by side with top government MPs led by the leader of the majority in the national assembly Kimani Ichungwa.

They were among the few guests who were allowed to access the VIP waiting room that Kithure Kindiki was waiting for the ceremony to start.

Their role in Rigathi Gachagua’s ouster was big and this could have led to their massive presence at KICC or Kindiki’s swearing in ceremony.

Also present at KICC were Chief Justice Martha Koome, who is expected to lead the swearing in ceremony. Chief Registrar of Judiciary Fridah also accompanied CJ Martha Koome. Head of Public Service Felix Koskei was also present.

Notably absent from the ceremony is President William Ruto who is currently out of the country in Burundi to attend COMESA meeting.

However, unconfirmed reports indicate that the head of state could join the ceremony later in the day after hjetting into the country.
