Declaring war on corruption and making it plain that he will not put up with it among cabinet members is President William Ruto.
Ruto asked ministry secretaries to refrain from any actions that could lead to controversies within their ranks and pledged that he would not tolerate them.
He claimed it would not be normal to interact with the secretaries of ministers involved in scandals.
The chief of state stated he had spoken with the relevant ministries and that he had also informed the administrators and general secretary about the situation.
Ruto clarified that the funds may only be used to provide services to Kenyans and that workers of the government are not eligible to receive them.
This isn’t like the others; I had a cordial discussion with my government and would like to extend the same courtesy to the general secretaries and directors. He told The Standard, “I told Kenyans that money wasn’t for stealing; it was only for carrying out government initiatives, projects, and goals.”
He also said that the unfulfilled promises made by CSs have caused Kenyans to lose faith in his administration.
Ruto, seeing that this was harming his leader’s standing with Kenyans, chastised this and promised to stop it.
“This path has already led us to a poor place, so we are eager to see where it leads us.” I can assure you that it’s time to terminate this permanently.
