Kenyans are deep mourning following the death of veteran radio presenter Mercy Mawia. She passed away while being treated at a hospital in Nairobi. On Tuesday morning, Mawia, the beloved voice of Mbaitu FM, passed away while undergoing surgery with her husband by her side.
Mawia had expressed his joy at attending the July 20 wedding of Kamba gospel artist Fortune Mwikali Ngwangwa before his sudden death. Sadly, his plans were derailed when he became ill and was admitted to the hospital.
“This is the dress I had planned to wear to Fortune’s wedding, unfortunately I got sick,” she lamented in her most recent Facebook post.
