According to news hitting the airwaves this morning top Kenyan musician and “The Mushroom” band leader Ted Kalanda Harrison has died at the age of 72.
Sources indicate that Ted passed away at his rural home in Kaloleni, Kilifi County.
Kalanda, who had been battling cancer since 2018 had lost his eyesight at the time of his death.
The departed singer will be remembered for composing the “Jambo Bwana” hit song.
Many across the internet expressed their shock and deepest condolence to his entire family more so during these trying times.
