Days after the brutal killing of a Nairobi woman at Lavington Airbnb and body found dumped at Lang’ata Cemetery, several discoveries have been made.
Credible reports from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have revealed that the woman was immersed in dangerous chemicals before being killed, body mutilated, and dumped at Lang’ata Cemetery.
The victim, identified through family reports and CCTV footage, had gone missing after leaving her home in California Estate to meet a suspect, Hashim Dagane Muhumed, at a short-stay apartment in Lavington.
During the probe, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations recovered key evidence, including a handbag, shoes, and a blood-stained panga believed to be the murder weapon.
Additionally, the victim’s shopping receipt, recovered from the crime scene, became pivotal in tracking her last movements.Supermarket data linked the receipt to her mobile phone, further corroborating CCTV footage.
The victim was seen entering the apartment before her body was later transported in a black bag and abandoned at the cemetery.
Investigators believe the suspect used a vehicle, yet to be recovered, to ferry the remains.
Forensic evidence connects Dagane to this and other violent crimes, including the murder of three women in separate cases.
Reports indicate that detectives have also analysed mobile records showing frequent communication between the victim and Dagane.
The victim’s phone, which mysteriously called her family on the day her remains were found, is still missing, as are other personal belongings.
Authorities are interrogating Dagane to uncover the motive and locate the missing items.
Meanwhile, the apartment’s owner has gone into hiding after hastily repainting and covering up traces of the gruesome act.
As investigations continue, detectives remain committed to delivering justice for the victim and her family.
