New reports detailing money transactions have emerged following the arrest of 6 individuals linked to the murder of South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, and his close friend, celebrity chef and entrepreneur Tebello “Tibz” Motshoane.

According to a popular Eswatini newspaper identified as, Times of Eswatini, the killers were allegedly paid R800,000 which translates to Sh. 6 million to take out the South African rapper. His late friend, Tibz just happened to be collateral damage.

The publication, according to official police documents identified two suspects in the case as brothers Siyabonga Gezani Ndimane (Nxele) and Malusi Dave Ndimande (Mjay).

It is said that they were arrested by the Royal Eswatini Police Services while hiding in Mbabane’s zone four. Both suspects are said to be from Durban.

Out of the said R800,000 that was paid to the hitmen, the brothers who are allegedly also linked to two other unrelated murders, received R133,000 as their share.

That’s a little over a million shillings. Sh. 1,008,362 to be exact.

The documents went on to highlight that the Director of Public Prosecutions in Eswatini is the one who is currently in possession of the Standard Bank account statements where the brother’s payment was deposited after they successfully executed the murder.

Yesterday, 28th February, five of the suspects connected to the murder of the South African rapper AKA appeared in front of the Durban Magistrates Court while two other suspects are set to appear at an Eswatini-based court.

AKA and Tibbz were gunned down on February 10, last year in a drive-by shooting on Florida Road outside a hotel in Durban.

According to the police, 6 of the arrested suspects who are all aged below 36 years were paid hit-men who had been instructed to trail and target the late South African artist. However, as of now, no motives have been revealed.

“It was clear that AKA was monitored from the airport and Tibz was not the intended target in the murder on Florida Road in Durban,” Lt Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner, said in a press briefing yesterday evening.

He went on to add that they had uncovered evidence that the 6 who played different roles in the plot to murder AKA were not acting on their own accord and had actually been paid to execute the mission.
