Accompanied by public service cabinet secretary Moses Kuria and other key leaders from both levels of government, president William Ruto today grazed the graduation ceremony of hundreds of National Youth Service trainees at Gilgil, Nakuru county.

It is during this ceremony that the president announced sudden increase in the salaries and remuneration of National Youth Service employees the next three years starting next year.

According to president William Ruto, the salaries of national youth services recruits will be increased by 40% over the next three years.

“I want to reveal to you that the National Youth Service was among the government departments which the Police Reforms team worked on and proposed a number of reforms in their salaries,” president William Ruto revealed.

“I want to confirm to you that the National Youth Service, beginning the next financial year for three years, their salaries will be increased by 40%,” said Ruto eliciting excitement reaction from the crowd.

President William Ruto also announced an increment in the total number of Kenyan youths who will be absorbed by the National Youth Service next year. He revealed that the department will recruit a whopping thirty thousand ( 30,000 ) recruits into the service next year.

“In next year alone, we will increase the number of youths recruited into the service. 30,000 will be recruited in two faces,” he announced.
