Gachagua was born in 1965 in Hiriga village, Mathira, Nyeri County, being the eighth born child to Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and Martha Kirigo.

He began his education at Kabiruini Primary School and subsequently transferred to Kianyaga High School, the University of Nairobi, and finally Oklahoma UniversityHe is a Kenyan politician who is serving as the 2nd and current Deputy President of Kenya since 13 September 2022.

His parents were Mau Mau freedom fighters with his father being well known for building and servicing guns for Kenyan fighters.Gachagua enrolled at Kabiruini Primary School from 1971 to 1977 before proceeding to Kianyaga High School for his O-levels and A-levels.

In 1985, he joined University of Nairobi (UoN) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree; Political Science and Literature in 1988.Rigathi is married to Dorcas Wanjiku, a pastor whom he met at State House.

The DP has two sons aged 32 and 31. During a funeral in May 2022, he said his late father had instructed him on the line of succession in his family.

Gideon Kipsielei Towett Moi is a Kenyan politician and former senator of Baringo County, from 2013 to 2022. He was elected with a landslide win of over 80%, trouncing his opponent Jackson Kosgei.

In 1974, Gideon’s parents separated and while his elderly siblings continued to live with their mother – Moi’s last born stayed on under his father’s care, creating a special bond between them.

The former Baringo Senator is a child of privilege and had the best education at St Mary’s Secondary School. His schoolmates, many of them his lifetime friends, are some of the country’s shakers and movers across various fields and include former President Uhuru Kenyatta, businessman Jimi Wanjigi, journalist Jeff Koinange, and former Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo.
