Apart from the high cost of living in the country and reinstatement of the four rebel IEBC Commissioners, opening of Independent Electrol and Boundary Commission servers is among the demands by the opposition to the Kenya Kwanza government. Raila Odinga is demanding that the IEBC servers be opened for the truth about the last year’s general election to be known. The opposition has remained firm that they won last year’s Presidential election and that is why President Ruto does not want to open the servers.
However, Raila Odinga has received bad news amid the reopening of the servers after President Ruto’s allies claimed that the reopening of the servers is beyond Ruto’s mandate. The Governor of Bomet, Hillary Barchok delivered this bad message to the ODM leader amid pressure by Odinga to Ruto to reopen the servers. “President William Ruto cannot open the servers because the electrol matters are beyond his mandate,” Hillary Barchok said. This means that Ruto will never open the servers even if Raila Odinga insists to have his protests for the President to open as it is not his mandate.
