In a startling political prediction, Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has weighed in on the current heated political climate in Kenya. Amid growing tensions between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Amisi foresees a scenario where the chief opposition leader, Raila Odinga, might lend his support to President Ruto for re-election in 2027.

Amisi’s prediction hinges on the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of Kenyan politics. He suggests that if the Kikuyu community in the Mount Kenya region were to fully back Raila Odinga for the first time, it could be their most straightforward path back to State House following the end of Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency. However, if the Kikuyus fail to support Odinga, Amisi believes that Odinga might instead throw his weight behind President Ruto. This strategic move would ensure that Odinga’s long-standing support base in Nyanza remains connected to the government as he approaches retirement.

The political landscape in Kenya is currently fraught with uncertainty. The apparent fallout between President Ruto and Deputy President Gachagua has left many speculating about the future of their alliance. Gachagua, who was once seen as the Mount Kenya region’s best hope for retaining influence in the national government, now appears to be increasingly sidelined.
