Nandi senator Samson Cherargei has told Raila Odinga, leader of the Azimio party, that he will be held responsible if anything goes wrong with the massive protest scheduled to take place in Nairobi on Monday.
As the senator put it, Raila should pay the price if there is violence or property damage in the city.
The uproar will be your fault, and you’ll be the one taken into custody. His words.
To reiterate what he had already said, Cherargei emphasised that all Kenyans, not just a select few, were citizens of the country.
“All of us share a common ancestry in Kenya. President William Ruto also has support from the people who elected him. The city of Nairobi has been chosen for our meeting. We’ll bring 300,000 of our most devoted fans if you bring 100,000 of yours.” Furthermore, he said.
The senator from Nandi said that Raila will not be able to force President William Ruto to shake his hand by threats, extortion, or coercion.
Cherargei said that Raila had coerced former presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki into shaking his hand and that he had also pushed his way into the governments of the late presidents Moi and Moi.
Nonetheless, he stated that he would not negotiate or even shake hands with President William Ruto.
“It’s time for action. As Tinga cannot keep the country captive indefinitely, he is being dealt with decisively. With this, we are releasing Luo Nyanza from his masters’ grasp.”
