Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has issued a strong demand to President William Ruto, urging immediate action on critical national issues.
Speaking in Homa Bay, Odinga expressed concerns raised by Kenyans during his nationwide engagements following his unsuccessful bid for the African Union Commission chairmanship.
The former prime minister noted that many Kenyans are troubled by issues such as corruption, poor governance, ethnic discrimination, and the failure of the universal health coverage plan.
He warned that the country is facing rising intolerance, where citizens are denied their rights to assembly and demonstration.
“We have also seen people being abducted and confined for many days. We have also seen people being murdered or killed.
This is worrying, and I have said that it must be brought to an end,” Odinga stated.
He also criticized the state of the Social Health Authority (SHA), citing widespread complaints from Kenyans being denied healthcare services despite paying their premiums.
He called on the government to resolve the Sh30 billion debt owed to private and rural hospitals.
Odinga, who was in Migori earlier in the day for similar discussions, is expected to make a “major announcement” in Busia on Friday.
His statements have left Kenyans speculating about his next political move, as he remains a key figure in the country’s political landscape.
