The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance boss Raila Odinga has remained bold that he will continue with protests until President William Ruto heeds to his demands.
In a press briefing earlier today, the chair of the Azimio bipartisan team MP Otiende Amollo argued that the team is not in any position to call demos or call them off, saying they have set duties and that entails the issues raised by the opposition.
Speaking with K24 TV on Tuesday evening, Political Expert Fred Ogola argued that Raila knows that when he withdraws from protests before his demands are met, he will be powerless.
Ogola further alleged that Raila knows he might end up losing in the bipartisan talks, and that’s why he has been adamant in the talks, and insisting that he will go back to the streets.
“Raila’s biggest card is the economy. This maandamano is an economic missile. He has discovered that the only language Kenya Kwanza listens to is maandamano and is working well. Negotiations is where he is likely to lose, but win in maandamano and if he withdraws, he will become powerless. By telling him to withdraw maandamano first, won’t work.”
In the Azimio’s latest press briefing, the camp has announced that it will be resuming the demos on Thursday.
