Azimio One Kenya party leader Raila Odinga has formally hinted his 2027 presidential candidature ending the speculations of his participation in the polls.

Odinga had chosen to remain non-committal on whether he would vie for the country’s top seat as President William Ruto finishes his first term.

Raila outlined reasons why he will continue fighting for Kenyans.

The ODM leader said the cost of living is still high and will continue to fight for the sake of common citizens.

He said his mission is to defend democracy and ensure justice prevails for all Kenyans.

He also announced the transformation of Azimio la Umoja into a political alliance of like-minded parties.

The declaration came after Azimio la Umoja was forced to call off Thursday’s meeting over concerns that it would further widen the cracks.

There are signals that tension is building among coalition partners over 2027 ambitions amid pressure to have some officials considered as non-committal or lukewarm fired.

Raila said since the Kenya Kwanza government took over life and living standards of Kenyans have continued to deteriorate.

He said that President William Ruto’s administration is full of unfulfilled promises.
