Rachel Otuoma, wife of ill footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, has spoken up about her experiences seeking spiritual guidance for her husband, who is suffering from motor neurone disease, better known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This disorder progressively impairs muscular function.

In an interview, Rachel described their journey through numerous spiritual leaders, including a meeting with Kilifi-based preacher Ezekiel Odero. She added that on one of their visits, she gave KSh 5000 as part of a tradition in which congregants can leave varied amounts at the altar, frequently choosing between KSh 5000, KSh 7000, or KSh 10,000.

According to Rachel, Pastor Odero stated that the causes of Ezekiel’s health problems were familial, implying that a family member was overshadowing his abilities. Despite her financial and spiritual investment, the efforts were futile, prompting Rachel to eventually put her faith exclusively in God and stop seeking aid from several pastors.

The public has given Rachel diverse counsel, with some encouraging her to keep her faith without chasing various pastors, while others recommending different spiritual leaders to contact.
