Pwani university has experienced more deaths this year which has left many students in fear of who is next and what might happen the next minute. Some few months ago their school bus was involved in an accident along Nakuru-Nairobi highway which left more than ten students dead. The university was closed for two weeks and later life went on as usual.
Few days ago a male student drowned at baobab beach which left the students mourning again. Some hours ago students were shocked after one of their first year student by the name Faith Owino was stubbed seven times on her way home from school and all her belongings were stolen. Many were left wondering why would someone kill an innocent girl rather than stealing and leaving her to live.
After being stabbed she was taken to Mephi hospital where she received first aid and was immediately transferred to Kilifi district hospital since she was in a critical condition. She was to be taken to ICU and people were called to donate blood but unfortunately she died. She had a very deep stub on her neck which showed that the killer wanted her dead.
Students are therefore demanding justice asking the school administration to work on matter to do with security as fast as possible and failure to that they are ready to suspend peace and demonstrate. May her soul rest in peace.
