Following the viral video of comedian and pastor Muthee Kiengei mocking Pritty Vishy for her body shape, several prominent Kenyan women have broken their silence.
Many women expressed their outrage over the video, feeling that Pastor Kiengei not only disrespected Pritty Vishy but also insulted all women and God by criticizing His creation in Vishy’s body.
Rapper Femi One took to her Instagram page to voice her anger towards the man of God, criticizing him for mocking Vishy, with whom he had no prior disagreement.
Femi One believes that it’s time for Kenyans to have a serious discussion about who deserves the title of pastor or bishop, as some are not worthy at all.
“This video really angered me on so many levels. This is a Bishop, and on Sunday, he will likely be preaching about how we are all created in God’s image!! And the host is laughing… such an enabler. And this light joke about the boy… It’s sad to say the least. It’s high time we have an honest conversation about clergy in this country,” Femi One angrily stated.
Another person who expressed their displeasure with the video is Nana Owiti, wife of rapper King Kaka.
Owiti said her heart sank with anger to see a man who stands on the pulpit preaching about God’s love publicly discriminating against some people because of their physical appearance.
“I watched this video, and my heart was troubled. It’s hard to believe, but that man is a priest—a person who stands on the pulpit every Sunday preaching that we are created in God’s image, yet here he is tearing down Pritty Vishy—a young woman who, with courage and risk, has shared her struggles and self-worth,” Nana Owiti said.
However, Karen Nyamu seemed to downplay Vishy’s complaints, stating that the mockery was mild and defended Kiengei, saying he had already acknowledged his mistake and apologized.
Nyamu appeared to support Pastor Kiengei, suggesting that Pritty Vishy had insulted him online in the past.
“Today she’s crying over light remarks made about her. Yes, I said light. I know the Bishop is a comedian. But to be clear, she wants Vishy to take the turmoil or fame surrounding her relationship with Simple Boy. If she can accept that truth, she can improve herself,” Senator Nyamu stated.
However, it’s important to note that after facing backlash, Kiengei humbled himself and apologized for the remarks that may have offended Pritty Vishy and other women.
It’s an apology that Pritty Vishy flatly refused to accept, stating that the pastor had done it intentionally.
