TikTok content creator Nyar Awendo has come under fire from fellow influencers Prince Mwiti and Diana Rose, who accused her of using her elderly grandmother for attention and financial gain. In a recent live session, Mwiti and Rose expressed their disappointment, saying such actions show a lack of respect for the elderly.

Mwiti emphasized that while social media platforms like TikTok are meant for entertainment and creativity, creators should avoid exploiting vulnerable family members for personal benefit. He pointed out that Nyar Awendo’s grandmother deserves dignity and care rather than being involved in TikTok gimmicks.

Diana Rose echoed his sentiments, calling on Nyar Awendo to reevaluate her approach to content creation. She noted that using a family member in this manner might gain quick views, but it raises ethical concerns. “Family should be cherished, not used as tools for clout,” Diana remarked during the session.

Nyar Awendo has been gaining popularity for her TikTok videos, often featuring her grandmother in lighthearted and humorous scenarios. However, this recent backlash highlights the delicate balance creators must maintain between content creation and respecting family boundaries.

The debate has sparked mixed reactions among social media users, with some supporting Mwiti and Rose’s critique while others defended Nyar Awendo, stating that her videos are made with the grandmother’s consent.

The incident has reignited discussions about ethical content creation on social media platforms, with many urging influencers to prioritize respect and sensitivity in their work.
