President William Ruto recently warmed the hearts of many Kenyans after introducing his youngest daughter, Nadia Cherono, who has grown up since he adopted her. Nadia’s story began in 2015 when she was only five years old. She had been abandoned by her mother just a day after being born. Fortunately, nuns found her and took her to Madre Ippolata Children’s Home in Machakos County, where she was cared for.
On Sunday, October 6, while addressing the congregation at AIC Milimani Church in Nairobi, President Ruto introduced his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Nadia. He proudly said, “I am here with my wife Rachel and my daughter Mia. She is the youngest. Thank you very much, and may God bless you.”
Nadia, now a teenager, looked calm as she sat behind her mother during the service. She was dressed in a floral sky-blue dress, paired with a denim jacket and blue sneakers. Her transformation impressed many Kenyans, who expressed their admiration and delight at seeing how much she has grown.
Nadia’s journey from being abandoned as a newborn to becoming a part of the President’s family is a touching story that has moved many people.
