The Head of State His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto has today appended his signature on the controversial Social Health Bill which see Kenyans be deducted a given amount from their monthly salary.
According to a statement dated today the 19th day of October 2023, the President has ascended into law the Social Health Bill which requires Kenyans inhabiting varied local and regional destinations to be deducted 2.75 per cent from their salary every month.
According to the newly institutionalized law, Kenyan citizens will not be entitled to a mandatory monthly deduction ranging between KSh300 and KSh5,000 depending on the monthly salary.
The Kenyan Government has articulated that the mandatory salary deduction will be channeled to the National Hospital Insurance Fund in a strategic move fostered towards enhancing accessibility of quality health care by all Kenyans.
