Taking to her Instagram account, Susan Grace therefore marked the anniversary of her mother’s death in an emotional way.

She penned a long message where she remembered the last moments that she shared with her just before she died, and how her death still pains her to date.

“Exactly 10 years ago, 4th Jan 2015, my mum went to be with the Lord and nothing could have prepared me for the events that took place that Sunday evening. All I know is one minute she was very okay and the next minute I’m rushing her to hospital. Her last words to me were “I don’t think I’ll make it” and true to her word, she didn’t 💔…”

Susan Grace added:

“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already, it’s been hard doing life without her but I can confidently say that God has been faithful. To everyone who’s lost a parent/guardian. I’m sending you hugs and love 🫂❤️”.

The talented Crossover host who is also a podcaster further accompanied the message with three photos, that were taken at her mother’s funeral 10 years ago as shown below.

Susan Grace’s complicated relationship with her mother
Even though Susan Grace clearly misses her mother after she died, the two did not have a good relationship when she was still alive.

For starters, when she was still young, her mom took her to the village to be raised by her grandmother, while the mom continued living her life in the city.

This situation made Susan Grace to feel like she had been neglected by her mom, and the situation was even worsened by the fact that her father was also not in the picture.

The sassy presenter was raised by her grandmother until she finished her primary school education, and then she gave her mom an ultimatum to take her or else she was going to commit suicide.

Her mother agreed to take her and she went witj her to Embakasi Avenue where she used to live then.

When she got to her mother’s place, Susan Grace again did get the love that she deserved because she felt like she was forcing herself on her mom.

Most of the times she even used to lock herself in her room because she felt like if her mother saw her less often, then she would feel better.

After joining high school, Susan Grace again faced a new challenge of dealing with her mother’s boyfriend.

The guy was unfortunately a pedophile who preyed on her. However when she told her mom about it, she still took the man’s side.

Susan Grace loses her mom
Susan Grace however unfortunately lost her mom in January 2015, when she was a student at Daystar University, where she was pursuing a course in Mass Communication.

The mother died after having a battle with a flu for several days. At first they thought that it would eventually go away, but unfortunately it did not.

Susan Grace got to experience the last moments of her mother being alive, because she began coughing and throwing up a lot of blood in the house, while she was there too.

When she tried to get her to the car so as to take her to the hospital, it was here that her mom told her to not bother because she was not going to make it.

Susan Grace still took her to the Shalom Hospital in Athi River that day, but unfortunately she did not make it.
