The media industry has been thrown into mourning following the passing on of multilingual news reporter Shadrack Mitty. Details of exactly what caused his death remain scanty.

The talented reporter is said to have passed on last night while undergoing treatment.

Mitty announced his arrival into the scene at the now defunct QTV which was owned by the Nation Media Group. He would then transition to KTN News whose parent company is the Standard Group.

It is while working for KTN News that Mitty became one of the finest reporters in the country.

His ability to report both in English and Kiswahili saw him become a key figure at KTN News.

The late journalist attended the prestigious Kenya Institute of Mass Communication in South B, Nairobi.

Mitty’s former colleagues in the industry, including his boss at Standard Group, Paul Nabiswa is among those who have mourned the fallen scribe.

Nabiswa recounted their moments together in high school before fate would reunite them again as colleagues and workmates.

Former NTV senior political reporter Kennedy Mureithi, is another one who has mourned Mitty.

“I am gutted. I am lost. I have woken to the sad news on the passing on of my great friend and colleague in the journalism field Shadrack Mitty.

A fine multi- lingual journalist whom we started with at QTV before he transitioned to KTN.

I write go well brother, but this one has hit me hard.

Our phone call of 10th May is now replaying in my mind. Rest ndugu, rest, ” Mureithi said in a post on his Facebook page.
